Watch out for phishing emails

⚠️ Some mail.coop users have recently received fake emails pretending to be from our team or related services. These are known as phishing emails, and they're designed to trick you into clicking links, sharing your password, or downloading something harmful.

Please stay alert, and follow the advice below.

Phishing email

An example of a phishing email. If you're not sure, don't click.

How to spot a phishing email

  • Urgent or threatening language – e.g. “Your mailbox will be closed today unless you act”
  • Poor grammar or awkward phrasing
  • Unusual email addresses – check the sender's full address carefully
  • Fake links – hover over a link (without clicking) to see where it really goes

If in doubt, don’t click.

What to do if you receive a suspicious email

We will never:

  • Ask you for your password in an email
  • Send threatening emails demanding urgent action
  • Ask you to download a security tool or app

If you ever receive an email like this, it’s fake.
